Here is an update on last week’s market report on Desiccated Coconut.
Premium Indonesian suppliers – i.e. those with GFSI accreditation – have increased the prices of DC sharply by between 3.5 to 4 per cent.
Last week they were reporting prices around $ 1450 per mt for DC Fine and $ 1475 per mt for DC Medium. This week they have concluded business at levels of of $ 1500 for Fine and $ 1550 for Medium DC, citing shortage of nuts. Moreover, they are also predicting further increases after September.
Buyers are requested to take note of this. As already advised, GBP weakness is contributing further to price increases in UK.
